We stayed at the house in October 2011, the weather was not kind to us but the house is very quiet, well maintained and comfortable and made up for the weather. Fabulous terraces with great views (especially from the ‘top’ double room) are a special feature.
Queta is very helpful and can provide good local information. A basket of fresh vegetables from her garden was very welcome as well.
The local facilities are obviously focused on village life and take a while to work out but the bakeries and other shops are well stocked and friendly. Freshly cooked roast chicken meals can be purchased on weekends and a couple of the bars provide simple but tasty Tapas facilities. A couple of local restaurants completes the picture, the Casa de Lino offering excellent meals and good value (wwekends only in Oct).
Niguelas is a good base for exploring the Alpajurras, Niguelas is outside the area but does not suffer from invasisons of visitors as a result. Good walking can be done from the village or from within the Alpajurras.
